Refractive Surgery Post-Operative Instructions

• Do not remove the eye shield(s) until the first post-op visit.
• Take over the counter pain reliever as needed for discomfort
• Wear the eye shield taped over the operated eye(s) while sleeping for two weeks after the surgery date
• Shower from the neck down.  Use a wash cloth to clean the face
• Avoid smoke filled rooms
• Do not change diapers or kitty litter for one week.
• Avoid activities that could cause an object to hit the operated eye(s
• NO swimming for three weeks/
• NO eye make-up for three weeks
• NO RUBBING OF THE OPERTED EYE(S) FOR AT LEAST EIGHT WEEKS
